This four-step process is used by all members of our team to help you stay informed, provide feedback and get involved in all stages of the build. From consultation to completion, we’ll ensure that your project aligns with your vision in a manner that is organized, professional and beautiful.

Build Your Custom Home in Four Steps

Impero’s simplified custom home process makes it easy for homeowners to stay engaged and on task without sacrificing quality or craftsmanship. We’ve broken down our extensive process into four manageable steps that will help you outline your home’s progress. Here’s what to expect when you meet with us:

1. Consultation

The first step in your home-building journey will start with a consultation. Our team will meet with you to learn more about what you look for in a home. We’ll cover all aspects of the build by gathering more information on the following components:

• Your personal taste, which includes your style, desired architectural features, and layout.
• Your lifestyle—do you like to cook? Entertain? Are you a movie aficionado? Or maybe you like to stay fit. All of these little details about your lifestyle will inform specialized components of your space.  
• The budget you’re comfortable working with! We want to consider your budget so that we can work with you to build a dream home that you love at a price you can afford.
• Your must-haves! Of course, you’ll get a chance to tell us about everything you need in your home.  Whether it be open-concept, two story, or even a wrap-around porch, we want to know what is at the top of your list.

2. Design

Using information from the initial consult, we will take the time to plan a comprehensive design that incorporates the elements that we collected from you. This includes everything from materials on the floors to the exterior landscape. And we want this process to be as collaborative as possible: we will provide you with a copy of the blueprint and schedule a meeting with you to discuss any adjustments that may be required. We’ll continue to listen to your needs, while offering suggestions and insight, until we have a blueprint that reflects your desired vision. As we move forward, this blueprint will serve as our guide for your home.

3. Estimation

After the blueprint is finalized, our team will carefully assess the project and budget out materials, labour and any potential costs that are associated with the project. To demonstrate where the budget is allocated, and how we come up with your estimate, we’ll provide a comprehensive breakdown, so you know exactly how your money is being distributed.

4. Build

Need we say more? This is the step you’ve been waiting for! The build stage encompasses everything related to the home including excavation, foundation, framing, wiring, insulating and drywalling. And, while this can seem long and overwhelming, our team will make sure that you get to be a part of each step. We want you to be able to see first-hand the various details that go into the building process.

You’ll be able to select light fixtures, light placement and meet with our partner, Artcraft Kitchens, for the kitchen install, too. Once we’ve completed your home, we’ll schedule a walk-through inspection with you. The purpose of this walkthrough is to address any concerns you may have about the home before giving you the keys!
